Located in Northwest Indiana,
the Highland Fire Department is organized to save lives, suppress and control
fires, provide services, such as EMS, hazardous materials recognition and
response, fire prevention, and otherwise provide customer service activities
as deemed in the best interest of the citizens of our community and the Fire Department .
The Fire department is made
up of 35 active volunteers, 4 new probies, 17 reserve members and 1 paid Fire Chief.
We have 2 stations, Central and South. 3 engines, 1 ladder truck, a heavy
rescue vehicle, 1 Suburban and our ambulance are located at the Central
station. 2 engines and another custom built, 65 foot, snorkel, ladder truck
are located at the South station.
